To make it update the wallpaper to the latest pic daily, you need to put the app into your login items. The APOD Wallpaper software automatically updates your Windows desktop wallpaper from the Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) web site. It also checks for new images even when it's not running and shows them on the Lock Screen, Start Screen wallpaper and Live Tile, so you never miss any.
